As a kid I remember candy was never sour enough. Warheads were good for 20 seconds but then were boring sweet hard candy. Sour Patch Kids were ok for 10 seconds but then were boring sweet gummy candy. The best part of sour patch kids was the white powder left over at the bottom of the wrapper.
As a kid I just accepted this, that candy just wasn't good enough, but why stop there? If I only want sour powder, why not go get that? So I did. I now have five pounds of citric acid. It is amazing, and will last me forever.

Update 2014-01-13: I ended up ordering malic and fumaric acids as well. I like the malic acid a lot, but the fumaric acid is really hard to taste. Not being soluble in water it just sits on the tongue being slightly sour. I probably just haven't found the right use for it yet.
